photo of Jeff Reeve

Welcome to my website. I am Jeff Reeve and this site has been created as a portal to find my poetry and photography on my primary website www.thecrackedjar.com. Writing poetry requires a person that sees things just slightly different. Someone who might appear to be a little cracked. Thus, the website is titled The Cracked Jar. Oh, by the way, my initials are J.A.R.

The Cracked Jar website

This site was built to promote my creative endeavors. On The Cracked Jar site you will find a sample of my book of poetry they don't serve beer here - and other depressing thoughts, an original poem (occasionally changed), a short biography, and a page with galleries of photographs.

they don't serve beer here

My book of poetry they don't serve beer here - and other depressing thoughts was released on December 31, 2011. I consider the book to be a hodgepodge collection of poems that opens with a tribute to Lawrence Ferlinghetti (a favorite poet) and ends with reflections on the EF-5 tornado that devastated Joplin, Missouri in May 2011. The poems in between may speak of anything: love, politics, sex, and maybe a dog or a flower or an elevator. As a bonus, I have included a number of my photgraphs that were digitally converted to look like sketches.
